Get a taste of what camp is like with a Camp Rockmont Adventure Pass!

GIGF attendees have an opportunity to experience some of Rockmont’s signature skills and thrills. General Admission to Get In Gear Fest is free but you can purchase a Camp Rockmont Adventure Pass For $15 per person and you can have access to the following activities;

YOUR ADVENTURE PASS INCLUDES 10 AM – 5 PM ACCESS TO:

The Waterfront – Fun for the whole family and a great way to extend your fun at GIGF.

The Web – Our aquatic ropes challenge course – can you stay dry?

Disc Golf – Check out a frisbee and challenge a friend to nine holes Rockmont’s disc golf course.

3 Ziplines – Get an aerial view of the whole festival while zipping towards splashdown.

Rock Climbing – with routes for beginners to experienced climbers, will you ring the bell at the top?

Canoe & SUP (Stand-up Paddleboards) – Explore beautiful Lake Eden and take in the mountain views.

Archery – The classic camp activity. Take a deep breath, level your bow and let loose your arrow.

Note: There is a short 30 minute shift change from 1:00 – 1:30 PM when skills will not be available.

When is the Get In Gear Fest (GIGF)?

Get In Gear Fest, the annual celebration of our amazing outdoor companies, community, and culture here in WNC will be held on Saturday, April 23rd with expo and demo event from 10am-7pm, and Dangermuffin closing out the day from 7pm-10pm. 

Where is the Get In Gear Fest?

New for 2022, GIGF will be held at the beautiful Camp Rockmont in Black Mountain, NC. The address is 375 Lake Eden Rd, Black Mountain, NC 28711.

Does it cost to attend Get In Gear Fest?

There is no cost to attend the 2022 GIGF thanks to the support of our sponsors, partners, and companies and vendor demos are free.

If you are interested in experiencing all the fun family activities at Camp Rockmont you can purchase an Adventure Day Pass and maximize your time at the event.

We have a solid lineup of local companies selling gear, food, and beverages so bring cash!

What safety precautions are being taken?

Both the leadership of the OBA and Camp Rockmont are committed to doing what we can to ensure a safe and comfortable experience to all attendees, volunteers, and vendors. At this outdoor event we encourage everyone to wash their hands regularly and social distancing is always strongly encouraged. When social distancing isn’t possible outside we ask people to MASK UP and be considerate of others in your area.  

We are excited to see everyone again as much as you are but let’s be conscious of others’ personal space.  Some of our fellow outdoor industry professionals and friends may not be ready for that hug just yet.  Consider checking in during your initial greeting to determine someone’s comfort level and personal space desired at this time.   

We will continue to monitor the daily changes and adapt as needed to keep our community health a priority.

Where do we park?

The event will have multiple parking locations. Follow signs for parking.

Thanks to our friends at Prestige Subaru, anyone arriving to the 2022 event in a Subaru will get Subaru VIP parking, as availability permits.  Follow the signs to Subaru Parking. 

Accessible parking will be available as well.  

General attendees should expect a short walk from the parking lot to the festival site.

Do attendees need to RSVP?

Yes, We request that if you plan to attend the event you RSVP.  This will allow us to gauge the attendance and also provide you with an opportunity to complete an activity waiver prior to showing up on site which will save you a bunch of time waiting in line. What should I bring to GIGF?

Bring your ID and money to support local businesses. Gear, food, beverages and beer will be available for purchase.  Be dressed to have fun, whether on the water, or on the trail.  Interested in joining the Kitsbow Group Ride(s) then bring your bike gear too.   

What is NOT allowed?

Do not bring weapons, glass, pets, drones, outside food or beverage, & professional cameras. No fishing or camping on site. Yes, NO dogs allowed.

Do I have to come for the whole day? 

No! Drop in when it is convenient.  Be sure to check the schedule so you don’t miss any of your favorite activities, demos, and more.

Will there be food at the event?

Food vendors and food trucks will be on site serving up locally crafted tasty food and beverages.Vendors include Highland Brewing, Archetype Brewing, Gingers Revenge, Cecilia’s Kitchen, Appalachian Chic, La Semilla.

Can I bring my dog? What is your pet policy? 

Sorry, NO dogs.  Pets are NOT permitted at Camp Rockmont 

Is the GIGF family friendly?

Yes!  The event is designed to be enjoyed by all ages.  While certain activities may be limited to certain ages, there will be endless fun and adventure for kids. Everyone under the age of 18. Must be accompanied by a guardian at all times.
